How I wrote a marketing book outline in 5 seconds using SnackPrompt and ChatGPT

What is Snack Prompt: SnackPrompt is a unique online platform that allows users to generate and upvote AI prompts. It’s like the Reddit of AI prompts, where community-driven content is king. The website offers a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for anyone to create and post their prompts. Users can also browse through the existing collection of prompts, select their favorites, and upvote them to increase their visibility. The platform is an excellent resource for anyone interested in artificial intelligence or seeking inspiration for their next project. With its focus on community engagement and user-generated content, SnackPrompt is a refreshing companion to exploring AI.

What I did: I browsed through the prompts and decided to test the one titled “Write a Complete Book in One Click.” I opened ChatGPT and copied and pasted the prompt.

What were the results?

The first attempt generated a book title, chapters, a short introduction, and a description for each chapter. At first, I was impressed. As I took a closer look, I thought the topics were boring and conventional, and the content may need to be more accurate. ChatGPT didn’t fulfill every description. Instead of a detailed chapter and more than 1000 words in each chapter, as I prompted, ChatGPT provided short description paragraphs.

The writing is also stoic, rigid, formal, and uninteresting.

Attempt #1

I tried it a second time, and this time I asked for “#Marketing and the future of marketing. Please write this with topics that are surprising or not conventional knowledge. Thank you.” (It’s always a good practice to say your P’s and Q’s). I was pretty pleasantly surprised with the result.

The topics were more aligned with what I was looking for; it was unique, unconventional, and at first glance, accurate. Like the first attempt, ChatGPT didn’t provide 1000 words per paragraph.

Attempt #2

Ranking

  • Accuracy: 2/5 — low accuracy. ChatGPT provided the base requirements but did not fulfill the information. It’s worth mentioning that ChatGPT doesn’t have a plagiarism checker or fact-checker built-in, which could have played a part in the low accuracy output.

  • Ease of Use: 4/5 — very easy to use! It would be helpful to have a formal SnackPrompt companion guidebook or expert knowledge to use ChatGPT to its fullest potential.

  • Security: 2/5 — low. When I asked ChatGPT the question “How secure is ChatGPT,” it said, “ChatGPT has some security risks to consider, such as potential access to and storage of sensitive information, and manipulation to generate fake or misleading content. The developers have implemented measures to prevent unauthorized access and respond to threats, but it’s still important to be cautious with sensitive information. While ChatGPT is a secure platform, users should take precautions to protect their data.” In other words, if you are a business or organization working with confidential or sensitive information, ChatGPT is not the more secure platform.

  • Customization: 3/5 — ChatGPT is flexible and customized through prompts and training instructions, but its underlying architecture and training data limit it.

  • Scalability: 4/5 — ChatGPT is highly scalable due to its distributed computing architecture. It can handle large volumes of data and requests, making it suitable for deployment across various platforms and applications. However, it may not fit extremely complex or high-volume tasks.

Ultimately

I would use ChatGPT if I wanted to write a book. It provides an excellent foundation of ideas to choose from. Some of the ways I would use ChatGPT are:

  • Generating ideas, plot twists, and outline.

  • Editing and revisions of paragraphs

  • Brainstorming titles and subtitles

One consideration is that just as we no longer remember phone numbers due to disuse, having an instant and readily available supply of ideas could make us overly dependent on AI to generate innovations. This can result in a cognitive tendency known as anchoring, where we rely heavily on the first information offered, potentially limiting our ability to develop original ideas.

To avoid becoming too reliant, I suggest the following:

  • Using ChatGPT (or other AI platforms) as a tool and using its outputs as a starting point

  • Seek out diverse sources of inspiration, such as books, podcasts, music, and art. Do this first before reaching out to ChatGPT.

  • Experiment with different prompts and inputs to challenge yourself and push your creativity

  • After a brainstorming session, take a walk or do something new. Set a time to come back later and look at the ideas with fresh eyes.
